Dedication. Passion. Expertise.
"A visionary coach inspires players to see the possibilities within themselves rather than dwelling on their limitations. Coaching involves unlocking the full potential of each player to foster their comprehensive growth. A good coach can make a difference in a game, but a great coach can make a lasting impact on countless lives." Taye Im - Team One
Brandon Im
Head Indoor Program Coach - Philosophy
My biggest goal in running our indoor club program is to create a positive learning environment where players are challenged to grow and improve their technical skills and become better teammates. I believe that coaching creates opportunities to teach important life skills such as team work, discipline, and overcoming adversity. Which will be skills that players use long beyond their club volleyball career.
Miguel Calvillo
Lead High School Age Coach - Philosophy
"With high energy and keen eye for technique, my coaching revolves around two key pillars: improving each player's physical skills through focused technique and challenging drills, and nurturing their mental and emotional well-being to enhance not only their game but also their life skills. I'm committed to creating a growth minded environment where every athlete can thrive, fostering both athletic excellence and personal growth."

"I want the girls to improve as much as they can and build teamwork skills they can use inside and outside of volleyball. 110% effort and dedication is so important! Although my goal is to help every kid play at a high level, I never want them to lose sight of how fun and amazing the game can be.
I want the kids to have a positive experience with volleyball that I sometimes did not get. I want to inspire kids to love the game!"
Lara Stremplewski

"To coach mental toughness and confidence together. If the athlete is able to be confident in their abilities, then their mental toughness will shine. I want to help the athletes realize their full potential and what they are capable of. I have my athletes practice volleyball skills as well as mental toughness by challenging their minds. With this, they can overcome any hardships they face, on and off the court."
Chloe Mellman
High School Age Coach - Philosophy
"My role as a coach is rooted in mentoring players to grow earnestly not only as a volleyball player but as a human being. To grow as a human, I believe in shaping confidence and fostering resilience in players. I prioritize confidence and resilience, since it allows young minds to accept mistakes and guide themselves through challenges. We’re not just improving their performance on the court but also preparing them for life’s trials."
Stork Hsu

"Teaching players the right fundamentals, mindset, and techniques, and help them to build their foundations. The learning process is a series of continual improvement as an individual player. Volleyball is both hard work and dedication that requires thousands of reps to master perfect pass, set and spike. Correct concepts and foundations will help players to build their skills and confidence as they grow into the sport."
William Church
High School Age Coach - Philosophy
"I believe it's important to develop a strong physical and mental edge to challenges. To effectively develop these skills requires different drills and experiences. To effectively train the physical requires repetitions without the fear of failure. This translates over to the mental aspect of sports when failure is not feared an athlete can play in the ‘Zone’, produce results, and most importantly enjoy doing it."

I’ve always believed in doing what you’re passionate about and finding what gives you purpose. Passion and purpose are not easily taught, however, it is my duty as a coach to inspire players through my own passion & love for this sport to help them to find their own, where ever it may be."

"My mission as a coach is to create a positive environment for players to expand their volleyball iq. Having a high volleyball iq can expand a players game exceedingly. I think putting the athletes in situations they are uncomfortable with is how they will grow their game play. As a former college athlete, I have a very high passion for the game and I want to pass that on to these young athletes."

"I feel it is so important to teach players how to handle their emotions when things don’t go exactly their way. It’s imperative that young volleyball players learn how to get back up and keep fighting after a tough loss and to always be seeking to reach their goals. There is so much volleyball can teach you that is beyond the sport itself. I love sharing with my players the pure joy and friendships that volleyball has given me, like when I was an athlete at Team One."

"My philosophy is to foster a safe and comfortable place for the girls to come to and be themselves. Learning skills like discipline, hard work, and being a good teammate is at the center of my priorities volleyball wise as a coach. However, I think the most important thing is that the girls have a positive and fun experience at practice and create relationships that last a lifetime."

"I personally believe that playing volleyball is all about the learning experience for these kids. Learning more about themselves as an athlete, teammate, and person. Implementing confidence, compassion, and courage are the most important things of allowing kids to grow. Demonstrating trust and bonds will last longer than however far this sport might take them."
